Twp. 160 acres. . .born in Carroll Co. Va. Mar 25, 1845, son of Samuel and
Jane (Traylor) Strange and oldest child of his father's SECOND MARRIAGE!
(emphasis added.) His parents were natives of the Old Dominion, from
which they emigrated to KS in 1857, settling in Doniphan Co. . . remained
until 1869 when they moved to Marshall Co."

Comment: Roland and Matilda Strange are in Wash Twp., Doniphan Co in

1857: At age 9 he moved with his parents to Doniphan Co, KS.
1869: At age 21 they moved to his homestead in Marshall Co, KS where he resided the rest of his life.
1870: At age 22 he was married to Miss Frances Ann Cox. To this union were born 2 children: Mrs. Nettie Lamb of Scott Co, and Samuel G. of Montana.
Survivors: wife, 2 children, one gson, Guy Lamb,
4 half sisters: Mrs. R. W. Marshall of Bigelow, KS,
Mrs. Parthena Hawkins, Portland, Oregon,

1869-70: He was a soldier in the Indian War in KS in Company H, 19th KS Cavalry.
He united with the Christian Church in an early day.
Funeral services held at the home. Interment in Prospect Hill cemetery.

"A cousin here (Marysville, KS) says there were a lot more children we
didn't know about. She is a grandaughter of RACHAEL. Leslie in Idaho is
g grandaughter of REBECCA. PAUL moved back to Massachusetts and
there are cousins there. One of his granddaughters came to Kansas City
and settled there."

Samuel Adams and brothers Charlie and Will of Blue Rapids, Kansas were sons of Samuel Strange of Halifax county, VA.
SAMUEL had 7 brothers: MARTIN, JOHN C., PAUL, JOSEPH, CALVIN & ROLLAND. Their father was HENRY STRANGE, he lived in Campbell Co, VA not far from Lynchburg.
A nephew of Samuel Adams named Samuel T. lives in Montana.
Samuel Adams has two children W. L. and Charles A. Both live in Tacoma, Washington.
1925 Sep 22: Samuel Adams died at Kelso, Cowlitz, Washington.
