Nancy BOWEN was born 24 Jul 1776 in Pennsylvania.  She died 4 Dec 1886. Nancy married Jacob CULP  3 Feb 1814 in Scioto Co., Ohio.  (Alternate birthdate given 11 Feb 1796 in Ohio)

Irwin, Cindy   Cindy.Irwin@gov.ab.ca  has excellent research on Nancy Bowen's family:

"She was the daughter of George and Ruth (Moredock) BOWEN. Her marriage certificate to Jacob CULP (3 Feb 1814 Scioto Co., OH -- this was before Jackson County was created, therefore the marriage record is in the parent county, Scioto) has her father George BOWEN giving consent.

George and Ruth BOWEN were originally from Greene Co., PA. George was the son of Thomas and Nancy Agnes (Cree) BOWEN. Ruth was the daughter of James and Mary (Cole) MOREDOCK. The book "The Tenmile Country" by Howard Leckey gives a lot of information on these two families.

James MOREDOCK was the son of John and Catherine (Maynes/Means) MOREDOCK. John was the son of George MOREDOCK. The Ancestral File has Catherine MAYNES/MEANS family going back further."

They had the following children:

  M i George W CULP was born 1815 and died about 7 Nov 1875.
F ii Elizabeth (Betty) CULP was born 21 May 1816 and died about 1903.
