"Mrs. Jessie Starr"

Services were held Friday in the Goble-Weeden Funeral Home for Mrs. Jessie Starr, widow of Louis Starr, who died Wednesday. Born in Glen Haven, November 12 , 1867, Mrs. Starr was the daughter of John Dolphin, former sheriff. She is survived by a nephew, Howard Hammes, Cudahy; a sister, Mrs. Lula Henkel, Lancaster and a brother, James Dolphin, Cassville. Mr. Starr died December 9, 1947.

The Starr home in the fourth ward was a showplace when the old couple were active. The tulip beds in the spring were striking to behold and this was followed by other flowers all through the season. Guests were always welcomed by the friendly old couple. Truly the Starrs had 'the green touch."

The Rev. F.E. Kranz officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Starr family lot at Hillside.

Lancaster Birth records: Vol 4 - page 339 nbr 88 - UNNAMED WHITE MALE - states father as Lou Starr and mother as Jessie Dolphin, born 12:30 pm, Sunday, February 21, 1892 . Both father and mother born - USA. Lou's occupation stated as Barber. However, in the index file pointing to this volume/page/nrb, it had Louis E. Starr named as child, but the actual birth record name was blank? 

Lancaster Records: Death Index vol1: Earliest records thru 1914: Vol 13, page 585: Lists Laurie D. Starr dying on Sept 29, 1911 of typhoid Fever. Listed birth as February 21, 1892 white, MALE. Age 19 years, 7 months 8 days at time of death. Single and died in Grant Co, Wisconsin. Father listed as Louis J. Starr and Mother as Jessie Dolphin. Listed burial at Hillside Cemetery - Oct 1, 1911. All of these details agree with birth record info above. Hence, I think the missing name on the birth record is Laurie D. Starr.
