Conflicting death dates. One
date in the Ancestral file given for Mary's death was 12 Jan 1716 in Simsbury
CT. Another lists 12 Jan 1715. However these dates conflict with her marriage
to Miles Sweeney in 1720. The will of Mary Sweeney gives date 26 May 1748

Sweeney, Mary, Widow,
Simsbury (who died 26 May, 1748). Invt. 144-05-11. Taken 4 June, 1748, by
Amos Wilcocks and Jonathan Pettebone. Will dated 20 May, 1748.
I, Widow Mary
Sweeney, of the Town of Simsbury, in the County of Hartford, do make
this my last will and testament: I give unto my son Benjamin Sweeney two
swine, a silk neck cloth, a blue quilted coverlid and a blue quilted
petticoat. I give unto my granddaughter Patience Alderman a blue camblet
riding hood, a brass kettle, a trammell, a bedstead, and a part of the
wooden dishes. And also I give unto my daughter Patience Alderman a gown
and a new shift. Also, I give unto my granddaughter Amey Johnson two beds,
three sheets, two coverlids, a boulster and two pillers, a pewter platter, a
puter plate, and iron pott, and part of the wooden dishes. Also, I do give
unto my son John Priest a shift, this is, a linen shift. Also, I do
give unto my son Aaron Priest a chair and a bed cord. My will is that my
funeral charges and just debts be paid by having my cow sold to pay sd. debts.
And I appoint my son Benjamin Sweeney to be executor.

Simsbury dec'd., was now exhibited in Court by Benjamin Sweeney, executor.
Proven. Page 104 -- 4 Jul, 1749: An account of Adms. on the estate of
Widow Mary Sweeney, late of Simsbury, was now exhibited in Court by Benjamin
Sweeney, executor: Paid in debts and charges, 95-07-03. Which account was
allowed and ordered to be kept on file.

In the name of God amen
this Twentieth day of may old 1748, I widow mary Sweaney of the Town of
Simsbury in the County of Hartford and the Coloney of Connecticut in new
England being weakly of bodey but of perfect mind and memory do make this my
last will & testament in manner and form following
Imprimus
I Do give and Recommend my
precious and Imortal Soul into the hands of god that gave it and my body
I Recommend unto the Earth.
and for the love I Bore
unto my children first I give unto my son Bengeman Sweney two swine and
