buried in Jennings, Pawnee OK.   Their dau, Hettie md in 1897 in Marshall Co. KS, so Richard/Nancy might be in KS till then.  WS md in 1898 in OK, so probably they moved down that year.

"Will Hewitt and I were very close as cousins.  He seemed almost
like a brother to me.  He was such a good person.  Used to stay with us
and my grandfather Rolin Strange  quite a lot when he was a young man.
Worked on the farm for my grandfather.  Aunt Jane was my favorite Aunt.
Guess because she always made over me so much as did her mother, my
grandmother Matilda.  I was six years old when she died and can
remember all the family being there the children and grandchildren and
their lovely big farm house which was close to the big blue river not far
from the Hutchinson place and the Hutchinson Mill. . . I can remember
being over to grandfathers and grandmothers and how I loved grandma.
And I can remember going to spend a week or two during the summer
with my Aunt Jane.  They lived on a farm and I used to love to go down to
the spring and get a good cool drink of spring water.  They used to carry
their drinking water . . .I can remember how Aunt Jane and Willie as I
canned him used to spoil me and were so good to me that no wonder I
liked to go to my Aunt Janes. . .Aunt Jane was the third child of
grandfather Rolin and Nancy Strange and my father was their sixth child
I find according to our family Bible Record. . . I traced our family history
as far as my grandfather Rolin Strange & his two brothers from the . .
.history of the Stranges which is on file at the Congressional Library
here in D. C. . . .we do have a most interesting background and a history to
be proud of. . . Both the Strange & Campbelll's have their family crest. . .

Richard Nelson BRADLEY [Parents] was born 30 May 1867 in Nr Ashland, Saunders, NE. He died 13 Feb 1922 in Los Angeles, , CA. Richard married Ethel TIMMS on 1904.

1866 fall: Rebecca (Hewitt) Bradley's Journal:  We then moved to near
Ashland, Nebraska where we took out a claim and put up a house called a
dugout.  The front was built out of stone with a window and door.  The
back was  dug out so the bluff made part of the sides and the back wall.
The wall opposite the door was part of a solid bank of dirt.  The roof was
a round of logs and gable ends built up and covered with brush and hay,
then dirt.  You could not see very much of the house until you got down
the hill.  We moved in this house in the fall of 1866.  In the spring, May
the 30, 1867, our oldest child was born and we named him Richard
Nelson Bradley, Richard for my Father and Nelson for the kind brother
who came out to stay with me.  And although he had died in April before
the babe was born, we gave him the name just the same.  It would have
been a pleasure if we could have told him of his namesake."

Thomas WHITFIELD [Parents] was christened 20 Apr 1817 in Alston, Wesleyan, Alston, Cul. He married Sarah MARTIN on 25 Jul 1840 in Ninebanks, Allendale, Nbl.

Dr. J. Young has charted a "Thomas (as a) son of Joseph Whitfield and
Sarah Martin," with the comment "no baptism found.  She also has that
Joseph as a son of Thomas and Betty (Walton) Whitfield.

I did not have Thomas Whitfield b 20 Apr 1817 in Joseph and Sarah
Martin Whitfield's family.

Even though I know Dr. Young did exceptionally good work, I doubted this
linkage until I went through my data base (March 1997) and found a
'Thomas Whitfield son of Joseph and Sarah."   The place of Baptism:
"Alston, Wesleyan" confirmed the possibility since two of Joseph
Whitfield's brothers had baptized their babies at "Alston, Wesleyan"  six
months before this April 1817 date.

Children of Thomas Whitfield and Sarah Martin:
1.)  William Whitfield, a carpenter b 1856 who md Jane Edgar b 1860 &
had 10 children.
2.)  Margaret Whitfield who md W. Crozier.
3.)  a son who went to Gateshead? and had dau Olive Whitfield (ob) and
Alan Whitfield of Middleborough.

I don't find this marriage on the IGI of NBL, DUR, or CUL.

Dr. J. Young has  as children of Thomas Whitfield and Sarah Martin:
1.)  William Whitfield, a carpenter b 1856 who md Jane Edgar b 1860 &
had 10 children.
2.)  Margaret Whitfield who md W. Crozier.
3.)  a son who went to Gateshead? and had dau Olive Whitfield (ob) and
Alan Whitfield of Middleborough.  (The only other son that shows in
census is Joseph.)

Carol Minson's data base shows Ann & Elizabeth of Chair Heads- baptized
1844, and Sarah, also of Chair Heads, baptized 1846- buried at l week.

Thomas and Sarah.
