Jersey for 220, 10 shillings - on main branch of Racoon Creek - 130 a. & 37
poles (a pole, rod or a perch are each 5 1/2 yards – or 16.5 feet) Mentions
that it adjoins land of MOSES, DAVID, & THOMAS HAYS among others - also that
it is the land ANDREW inherited with bro. WILLIAM and that WILLIAM has already
sold his half. (This is ANDREW 2 and is probably the ANDREW and MARY I found
in the 1850 census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Ohio.)
1797 Jun 27: "Land transfers at Washington PA.: DAVID HAYS and w. HANNAH to
Ephriam Chidester, 89 1/2 a. & 20 perches for 268 & 10 shillings. Smith twp on
waters of Racoon Creek bordering on lands of MOSES HAYS and said Chidester.
(This is Capt. DAVID 2 who m. HANNAH VAN WYE. They are the Beaver Co. PA
HAYS.)"

I found three David Hays in the 1790 Washington Co. PA
Census. However page 178 lists David Hays and 9 lines later lists Thomas,
Moses, Joseph, William and Andrew Hays which directly fits with David
(b.1753) Hays' brothers. Based on the brothers listed, I believe page 178 is
David (b. 1753).
