1790 Wash Co. PA census has THOS HAYS, MOSES HAYS, JOSEPH HAYS,
WILLIAM HAYS & ANDREW HAYS...all in a line together as heads of fam.

Chidester of New Jersey for 220, 10 shillings - on main branch of
Racoon Creek - 130 a. & 37 poles (a pole and a perch are b oth 5 1/2
yards - I just looked it up!) (Mentions that it adjoins land of MOSES,
DAVID, & THOMAS HAYS among others - also that it is the land ANDREW
inherited with bro. WILLIAM and that WILLIAM has already sold his half.
Then I forgot to look up the sale of WM's land and consequently don't
know the name of his wife.) (This is ANDREW 2 and is probably the
ANDREW and MARY I found in the 1850 census of Urbana, Champaign Co.,

1797-E. MORRIS letter #10: "Land transfers at Washington PA.: DAVID
HAYS and w. HANNAH to Ephriam Chidester June 27, 1797, 89 1/2 a. & 20
perches for 268 & 10 shillings. Smith twp on waters of Racoon Creek
bordering on lands of MOSES HAYS and said Chidester. (This is Capt.
DAVID 2 who m. HANNAH VAN WYE. They are the Beaver Co. PA HAYS.)"
1810?? E MORRIS HAS: PLACES OF RESIDENCE: "WAYNE TWP., FAYETTE
CO. OHIO. CHURCH: PRESBYTERIAN."
1812: E. MORRIS letterJune 1971: "I have the War of 1812 bounty land
application papers of ANDREW (2) HAYS of Champaign Co., Ohio, and
ANDREW(3)HAYS (DAVID 2, DAVID 1) of Erie Co. PA.
Neither line is traced to the present. "

1790-In Wash Co. PA census with a wife, 1 son under 16 and 1 dau.
1792 Inherited land jointly with bro. WILLIAM on west side of Raccoon
Creek in Smith or Mt. Pleasant twp, Washington Co. Pa. (250 a. to be
divided.)
1794, Dec 1, He sold 130 a.
1804 he purchased some of same land.
1812 Volunteered at Fayette Co. OH, for War of 1812 (see 1850 below)
1840, An Andrew Hays was living in Mt. Pleasant twp, when he made an
assignment.
1850, ANDREW and MARY I found in the 1850 census of Urbana,
Champaign Co., Ohio.
1850 Oct 30 "Andrew Hays aged 82, a resident of Champaign Co. OH. . .
private in . . .Capt Nicholas Cunningham 1st Regt of OH Vol, Col.
Duncan McArthur. . .War of 1812. . .volunteered at Fayette Co. OH. . .
first of May 1812 for 6 mo. . .in actual service until. . .16 Aug 1812
never received any discharge & remained a prisoner on parolr until
exchanged or until close of war. . . (trying) obtain bounty land."
1855 Apr 2 "Andrew Hayse aged 88. . .he was taken prisoner at Surender
of Detroit by General Hull . . .16 Aug 1812. . .He has recd. . Bounty
Land of 80 acres. . .legally disposed. . .(wants to) obtain additional
bounty lalnd entitled under Act of Mar 3 1855...."
E. MORRIS letter of Mar 1972- has the complete will of DAVID HAYS.
"David, Sr did not list the ch in his will by age--WM was the next to last
son--ANDREW b abt 1767 was last.
