JEAKINS.__ At her home on the Walnut, two miles south of El Dorado, on Wednesday, July 25th, of typhoid fever, Mrs. Serena Jeakins, aged 42 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Serena Jane Hill was born in Hancock county Illinois, Kune 26th, 1841, and came with her parents to Kansas in 1858 and lived in Fremont township, Lyon county, until 1861 when she married to Edward Jeakins, and in the Spring of 1862 they moved to Butler county, settling on a homestead on the Walnut river, two miles below El Dorado, where they have lived to the present time......
