B. HAGUE were CARL HAGUE'S younger brothers from Sterling Colorado.)
Beaulah went on:  "Walt and Chan were there--(Warner)  -lived  there.
Chan was there more than Walt.  Chan lived with my Dad when he died
(1929), then he went back to Colorado.  Walt and Chan batched together
and farmed together for a year or so."
"Chan was tall,  Uncle Walter was shorter.  Chan had one arm off --it got
in a machine in Colorado.  Chan was real jolly and pleasant." (Beaulah-
May 17, 1984.)

Ella FLOCK may have been born about 1874 in Indiana. She married John Chancy HAGUE on 4 Jul 1901 in Sterling, Logan, Colo.  She likely died prior to 1910.

Birthdate/place questions:

We have little information on Ella Flock outside her marriage certificate to John Chancy Hague

4 Jul 1901 Marriage certificate

Chancy Hague of Sterling, Logan, Colorado

Ella Flock of Iliff, Logan, Colorado

witness Belle Hohl and S.R. Propst (sister and brother in law of Chancy.) Copy in our possession

We have one estimated birth date of 1862 <Plymouth, Wash, Ohio> and another 1870 of Iliff, Logan, Colorado.

The 1st estimate likely came from John Chancy Hague’s birthdate/place (1858- Plymouth, Washington, Ohio), the second perhaps estimate from the marriage certificate.

Logan County Colorado was created from Weld County in 1887. Per Wikipedia, Iliff was incorporated in 1906, but it was referred to earlier on Ella’s wedding certificate and is reported in 1900 census as Precinct 3, Iliff, Logan, Colorado.

I have searched the 1880 and 1885 Weld County Colorado census records with no Flock family found which discredits an estimate of Ella being born in Iliff, Logan, Colorado.

In  the 1900 Iliff census, there is a George Flock, age 34 b. Indiana found. He is the right age that he could be Ella’s brother. Looking in Indiana we find there is a John Flack (or Flock) family in 1880 Taylor twp, Greene, Indiana with children George G. Flack age 15 and Ella Flack age 6 suggesting a possible match to the 1900 Iliff census and marriage record of John Chancy Hague and Ella.  I believe 1874, Indiana is the most likely birthdate/place for Ella unless further evidence arises to the contrary.

John Chancy Hague is listed as a widower in the 1910/1920 census in Oklahoma where he is living with relatives.

Carol Minson wrote the mortuary in Sterling Colorado in 1975 asking for any information about John Chancy Hague’s wife. The reply said
"John Chancey Hague  wife Effie Hague."

Question:  Is the Effie Hague mentioned by the mortuary, the same person as Ella Hague?

A niece of John Chancy Hague, Hilda Bowlin Leverton told Carol Minson in 1983 she remembered her “Uncle Chan” when they were living in Montana prior to 1919. She said  "Uncle Chan didn't have any children that I know of." He never got married as far as she knew.  A grand nephew of Chancy, Walter Hague also said that Chancy never married. It is likely that since the marriage to Ella lasted only a short time, it may have never been mentioned to these younger relatives.

No wife or children were mentioned in John Chancy Hague’s obituary (1938)
