Jacob "J. M." COX [Parents] was born Sep 1908 in Outside Of Mound, , OK. He died in Of Mounds, Creek, OK. Jacob married Ruby.

1979: George now lives in Dallas Texas 1979.  l leg amputated.  never md.

(she was an orphan)

Beaulah Hague Glisson Hale knew the Bowlins. " Was with them
till----We bought the place after Aunt Sally died.  She died before Carl
Hague.  Early was with us a lot.
JM her son was with us a lot."  Jake Bowlin died when Beaulah was a
child.  "Uncle Jake had 1 leg off.  All are buried at Mounds."

Phone Conversation with Hilda Leverton April-May 1983:
1950's summer- " Earley (Bowlin) Colvin died in late 50's in California.
She went to see Richard (her youngest) and Mary and had a heart attack."
I asked, at her sons?  She said:  "Not at her sons.  At a friend of hers,
Emma, down in desert area, not Palm Sprigs and not as far as San Diego."
Hilda had had a letter from that friend, Emma.
I asked who of the descendants of J & Sally Bowlin live in Mounds now?
She said: "JM Cox is the only one  Route 2  Box 69--he's not too well (age
76--in 1983--same age as Hilda).  His brother George lives in Dallas
Texas.  He had 1 leg amputated.

I asked (1984) when did Richard Breedlove die?  She said, "Late 50's
after Aunt Early.  He had 5 kids.."  She thought his widow was still alive.

Richard BREEDLOVE [Parents] was born about 1910 in Of Mounds, Creek, OK. He died about 1958 and was buried in , , Calif. Richard married Mary.

Burrell, son of Almond Hervey & Isabella Folger (Claxton) Burrell.  He
was born at Amesville, OH 21 March 1848.  They had six children, all
born at New Lexington, OH:

Maine C., Glenn S., Frank L., Gene N., Guthrie C. and Nial L.
"Roche" Burrell was a Civil War veteran, serving from Jan 1864 (at age 15 yrs 10 mo) to Oct 1865.  He was then apprenticed to his bro in law Harry H. Miles, head of a monument works in Racine, OH.  "Roche"  became proficient in all phases of marble working 1865-1868 and he and his father in 1868 established a monument works called the "Premium Marble Works" in New Lexington, OH.  Roche cont to carry on this work until 1924."   Bernice Graham pg 319.

1881 Aug 22: Anna Nevora Smith md.Almond Rochester Burrell.
After their mg, they made their home in New Lexington. Six children were born to them, all at New Lexington.

Anna Nevora SMITH [Parents] was born 25 Feb 1854 in Bartlett, Washington, OH. She died 7 Nov 1925 in New Lexington, Columbiana, OH. Anna married Almond Rochester BURRELL on 22 Aug 1881 in Barlow, Washington, Ohio.

1855: Her father Sardine Stone Smith was Wesley Township Treasurer, 1855, 57, 58 and 1859  (elected office).

1858 Aug: "Sardine's wife, Deborah died. Eleanor (his mother) helped raise his two girls.  Sardine sold his store (in Bartlett?) and went to St. Joe Mo taking his mother and the girls, Anna & Eva.  He bought a farm (in Doniphan Co. KS?).  His sister Ellen Smith lived at St. Joseph." (this from a book of Bernice Grahams  pg 316.)

1861 May 4: "Sardine S. Smith 1st Lieut in Marion Guard, Doniphan Co. KS. His mother and girls lived there about 3 years then his mother died.  He grew homesick--sold the farm to David Fowler, his brother in law who disposed of it.  Sardine brought the girls back to Bartlett."

1862 Feb 11:Sardine remarried Mrs.Mgt.B,(Perry) Armstrong in Palmer Twp.
"Sardine and Margaret lived with her parents The Perry's in Palmer Twp for awhile, they they moved to Nex Lexington, OH to live near some Smith relatives (his sister Cornelia-the Fowlers?) Then moved to Bartlett where girls, ANNA & EVA went to grade school.  Then back to Palmer Twp to live.
1867 and 1869 they had two ch.Cidner b 1867 and Idella b 1869. (1867: Sardine's dau ANNA was 13 and EVA 11.)

1871: "S.S.Smith assessor of Palmer Twp."  HIST of WASH CO. 1881. p 670.
1875: S.S.Smith listed on Palmer Twp. Map.  Next door is Mrs. M.S. Smith.

In the Burrell Bible are records of baptisms for Roche and Anna and each of the six sons, in the Methodist Church at New Lexington.

1882, Jul 15: Maine C. Burrell, born eldest son of Anna N. Smith and A. Roche Burrell.
"Maine began carrying telephone messages and setting up telephones before he was out of high school.  After hight school, he sold insurance and sewing machines, and worked in a large foundry for a time, then finally settled down to telephone work.  For a few years, he worked for different companies, crossing the continent five times as a "Boomer Lineman."

1911 Jan 12: md LuCeil Merchand, dau of Lewis and Mary (Golden) Merchand...bought six lots in Olympia Washington...build a house...cleared the lots of trees and stumps by hand...retired by telephone co at age 65 in 1947, but kept busy doing maintenance jobs for the state...
.  They had four children: Marion DeLoris, Donald A., Kenneth J. and Bonnie Lou.

1958 Maine's bro Gene, and wife "visited Maine and family whose new home overlooks Lake Washington."

Luceil MERCHAND was born 6 Aug 1889 in Leal, ND. She died 22 Dec 1953 in Olympia, Thurston, WA. Luceil married Maine C. BURRELL on 12 Jan 1911 in Tacoma, WA. The marriage ended in divorce.
