Obit of MARIA (McCombs) HILDEBRAND WHO DIED 13 JAN 1903:
Maria, w/o William Hildebrand living 1&1/2 miles east of Teegarden, IN--Typhoid pneumonia--
Mrs. Hildebrand was b Dec 17 1844 nr South Bend, IN. Her parents were Wm and Eva McCombs. She had four brothers and four sisters. Her eldest brother having preceded her about two years ago at the age of 60. The remainder of her brothers and sisters are living. They are:
Lambert McCombs of Plymouth,
Samuel J. (McCombs) of Granger, IN,
Wm F. (McCombs) of South Bend,
Mrs. Elizabeth H. Heath,and the
Misses Eva (McCombs), Hannah L (McCombs) and Amanda (McCombs) of South Bend, IN.
The funeral took place Friday at the east Church in Liberty Twp, St. Joseph County. She was interred in the Fair Cemetery by the side of her son (Elmer) who died a number of years ago

1918 Jul 1 Mortuary Record of LAMBERT McCOMBS:
75 years old, one of pioneers of St. Joseph Co, died at the home of his son, Raymond McCombs of Teegarden, Marshall Co, IN.Lambert confined to bed for past year-dropsy. He was born in Clay Twp, St. Joseph Co, in the year 1843 and and a resident of the vicinity until he moved to the home of his son a year ago.
He was a grandson of Lambert McCombs, the first white settler in Clay Twp, while his mother, Mrs. Eva Cripe McCombs, was the granddau of Peter Roof, the only soldier of the Rev War to be buried in South Bend City Cem. Four sons and daus survive Mr. McComb:
He is also survived by 5 brothers and sisters: W. F. McCombs of South Bend;
Samuel J. McCombs of Bertrand, MI;
Mrs. Elizabeth W. Heath,
Misses Eva E, Hannah L and Amanda McCombs, all of South Bend.
Services in First Brethern Church, at Teegarden and burial in the City Cemetery.
