E. Morris wrote, May 1971: Rev. Everett Wilson of Emporia, KS talked about (the mg) of ELLEN HAYS and ISAAC WILSON a great deal.  Said he had searched and couldn't find it (mg record).  First thing he told me. He
was their son.  He said they lived at Wathena.  He was born in 1879 and his brother in 1881.  I can't find them there.  Could it be that this is because her brother ZEPH HAYS took the census?  Anyway, ISAAC WILSON
was mean to his children and soon left them.   I think this was the same Isaac Wilson who enlisted in the Kansas Inf. at Troy and lived across the river in Buchanan Co. Mo.  He had seven children by his wife from 1856 to 1878.  He evidently went back to her.  I have his Civil War pension
application.
REV. WILSON was very fond of his step-father, JAMES H. CLAUNCH. REV. WILSON said Ellen Hays Claunch died in Portland Ore, about 1930. His brother, (James Oscar,) lived there, but he and his brother were estranged.  JAMES OSCAR had sons HARRY, LYNN and LESTER.
