Enclosed a copy of photograph of the William Richardson Family, he believed was taken around 1900 when "Ace" or Asahel would have been about 14.
"I never met Mary Dexter Richardson, but I know the location of the house they bought in Hill City, Kansas in 1907. I was staying with my grandparents Fred and Edith Volkel in Lenora where I attended High School when the call came that Mary Richardson was found dead in the Hill City Home - January 31, 1938"
He also enclosed "copy of Scott Township near Barnard, Lincoln County, Kansas as of 1901 showing where the parents of Fred Volkel and the parents of Edith Richardson lived."
"My mother and I met briefly with Wm. Edgar Richardson in the early 1980's. Ed was very old and sickly at that time. We went to his house in Barnard.
Also sent "item from Beloit Newspaper describing the marriage of Fred and Edith. Beloit is the nearest town of any size and located in Mitchell County, due north of Barnard"
"Married Volkel-Richardson - At the home of the bride's parents, near Barnard, Lincoln county, Kansas, February 25, 1896, Mr. Fred. Volkel, jr., and Miss Edith Richardson, both of Barnard; Rev. J.M. Gurley officiating.
The ceremony was pronounced at high noon, in presence of the immediate friends, afterwhich the table spread with good things demanded the unsolicited attention of all present.
The contracting parties enjoy a wide and favorable acquaintance. The groom is one of Lincoln county's best teachers, is exemplary in his habits, and has the elements of a very useful man. The bride is beautiful and accomplished, modest in her bearing, and possesses qualities to make a loving and attentive wife."
