"Mrs. Eliza Caley"
Eliza C. Immel was born near Fort Wayne, IN, February 1, 1858, and came to WI when but five years of age. Then she returned to IN on account of her father's health, and came back to WI when eight years old and spent the remainder of her life in this state, with the exception of eight years in NE.
She was married to U.C. Caley on December 31, 1876. To this union were born three children--Cora, now Mrs. George Vogt of bee; Clyde, who passed away when three years old; and Ethel, now Mrs. Ralph Birch of Mason City, IA.
Mrs. Caley lived a good and useful life, helping her family and others in (the newspaper missed some words or a column here) for whom she left her home to care for when he attended high school in cass.
After a long illness, she died at the home of her daughter Cora on April 17, 1927, at the age of 69 years, two months, and 16 days.
She leaves to mourn their loss the two daughters, with their families; a half brother, William Myers of bloom; three half sisters, Mrs. William Cooper and Mrs. William Chapman of Bloomington and Mrs. Roy Hudson of bee; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Caley were held at the Beetown MEC on T, April 19, the Rev. C.E. Burdon officiating. Interment was made at the Doge cemetery.
Her "only and idolized grandchild, Lawrence Birch," was mentioned in the card of thanks.
