Can you identify this Elmer Crowl of Hicksville Ohio around the 1880's???

 

 

 

I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Elmer CROWL which was taken at Elliott’s Gallery in Hicksville, Ohio.  The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880’s with Elmer likely in his 20’s at the time it was taken.  In addition to his name, someone has written “relatives of David & Irene SWITZER’s”.  I’m hoping to locate someone from this CROWL Family, so that the photograph could be returned to the care of a family member.

There is an Ellmer Crowl age 7 in the 1870 Hicksville, Defiance, Ohio Census.His parents were George and Nancy.  There is an Irene age 10 with the family.   

In 1920, there is a David Switzer 63, wife Irene 52, looks like Howard 23 and Edith 16 in Mark twp, Defiance Co. Ohio  

It may be possible that Irene Crowl married this David Switzer (just a guess).  There was a David Switzer in Hicksville,  that is a brother to Samantha Ann Switzer. Their parents were Jacob Switzer and Sarah Ann Crowel.
