Following sent by Charles Shepherd II:
"Nancy was born 1800.  History of Noble Co. OH.
It has been stated that Nancy Hague and John Hague are buried in the
Whigville, OH Cem at the Whigville Church.  Also their grave markers reflect
the dates of their deaths-  John 1804-1872.  Nancy 1800-1870.
On the part of Nancy this does not seem to be so.  According to Court
records when John died some time in March of 1872 an affidavit was taken to
Nancy's house and read to her pertaining to John's will.  The reading of
this document, a commissioner's report took place Feb 24, 1873.  I Charles
Shepherd have visited the Whigville Cemetery and unable to locate the John
and Nancy Hague grave markers.  It was stated that Nancy's grave marker was
broken but legible.  It could be there because the cemetery is in deplorable
condition.  Many of the grave markers are not legible.

I have a copy of John Hague and Nancy Hague's mg certificate from Guernsey
Co OH.  It reads John Hague and Nancy Hague.  From this I assume that Nancy
must have married one of her cousins, or possibly Nancy was a widow of a
Hague."

2000 July:  Charles Shepherd phoned.  He had found mg license for John and
Nancy and  found John's will.   He said Minerva contested the will--Jane and
Levi were living down in WV.   He said Levi's son was Wm Riley Hague and he
md Alameda Conant who was desc from Gov.  Roger Conant of the early Mass
Colony.

Nancy HAGUE was born 1800 in , , PA. She died 10 Apr 1873 in Noble Co, OH and was buried in Whigville Cem., Marion Twp, Noble Co., OH. Nancy married John HAGUE on 14 Jul 1829 in , Guernsey, Ohio.

1800 BIRTH of NANCY:  from Graveyard info.

NANCY'S last name is either  "COLLINS" or "HAGUE."

1829 Guernsey Co. OH  Marriage records pg 417, vol A: "JOHN HAGUE
married NANCY HAGUE.  Jul 14, 1829."

1822: Xeroxed page from Bible of William Taylor Hague who was born 1868.
(He was 3rd son of John Christopher Hague.) "Dec 19,1822 was
born Jesse Williams, the son of Joseph Williams and NANCY Colins," Then
a line was drawn;________________________________________________________
and below:  "Levi HAIG, the son of John and NANCY HAIG was born  the
first day of Sept 1830."
(and then, in different handwriting:)
"Minerva Hague, the dau of John Hague and Nancy HAGUE was born the
28th day of April 1832;
John Cristopher Hague was born Sept 3, 1834;
Rebeca Hague was born October 3rd, 1836;
Barbery Hague was born May 5th, 1841."

Comment: It may be that the above "Jesse Williams" was a child by a
first marriage of Nancy.  The name "NANCY" in the first two instances is
in the same handwriting, the third time, it is different.  My guess is that
Nancy wrote the first two entries and was perhaps near-newly married
on the second entry, and thus spelled her last name as "HAIG."   It was
changed to "HAGUE" on the third entry.

There is a HENRY in Wills Twp, Guernsey Co, OH—could be abt 42--prob –him.
As for WILLIAM—the William Hague’s do my head in, there are several and it’s hard to identify who is which in the early census—but I think WILLIAM just might have gone to Wayne Co, OH. for awhile. and I kinda think he came back to Menallen Twp in 1830.

FIGURING REUBEN’S BIRTH YEAR:
1860: census We need it. It should give us a benchmark to work from.
1790 Aug 2: Census of Menallen, Fayette, PA . p 108:
l M l6 & up, 6 M under 16, 2 F.
(HAGE, JOHN b abt 1750- age 40)
( SARAH-wife) b abt 1755-35)
(WILLIAM b abt 1774- 16)
( JOHN b abt 1775-15)
( HENRY b abt 1778-12)
(JOSEPH b abt 1782- 8)
( ISAAC b abt 1784-6)
(REUBEN b abt 1786-4).
(+ dau SARAH b abt 1789-1).
The 1800 census shows a different slant than the 1790 or the 1810. The 1800 might not be correct. Census takers grouped the children’s ages together and they could easily have made a mistake..
1800 Aug 4: :JOHN HAIG, l m 45 and over (John b abt 1750)
2M l6-25, (WILLIAM, JOHN); 4 M l0-l5 (HENRY, JOSEPH, ISAAC, REUBEN)
l F 45 and over (wife, SARAH) 2 F 0-9 (dau's SARAH & NANCY ANN).
ISAAC, is 15 or 16. That fits. But Henry and Joseph must be older than15.
This 1800 figures out to be: 4 M 10-15 = born between 1784 and 1790.
Henry age 16 b 1784
Joseph age 14 b 1786
Isaac age 12 b 1788
Reuben age 10 b 1790 I really think this scenario is the least likely.
1802: Fayette, Orphan Ct. Recds: Joseph, ISAAC, & Reuben
all above 14-(but under 21). 1802 – 15 =1787
1802 – 20= 1782 This would mean
those 3 sons born between 1782-1787. So it likely would be:
Joseph b 1782-3;
Isaac born 1783-4;
Reuben b 1785-1786. (Leeway of a year in each case.) That fits more or less as I’ve calculated. But does not figure with 1800 census.
1810 Aug 6: Census of Menallen Twp, Fayette Co, PA p 9991/2
1 f 45 and up- (SARAH [Collins] HAGUE b 1752 = age 58)
2 f 16-26 (Sarah b abt 1789= age 21 and Nancy b abt 1793= age 17)
1 m 16-26 (Reuben b abt 1786 = age 24.)
1850: Census of Alleg Co. Pittsburgh-ELR; p 415:
Reuben Hague 68 (b 1782), PA is listed with a James Graham age 40,
family from Ireland. J. Graham is a carpenter. I think this is
the Reuben Hague that fits into this family.
1840, there is still a Reuben in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co, p.449. We need it.
&
ESPECIALLY THE 1860, --he might be listed in the Graham family.

Henry HAGUE was born about 1778 in Chester, Delaware Co, PA.

HENRY HAGUE b abt 1778, PA.
notes compiled by Carol Minson Feb 2002

1810 Aug 6: Census of Menallen Twp, Fayette Co, PA p. 1006 1/2
1 M 16-25 Henry Hague (if born in 1778=age 32)
1 F 16-25 ( his wife)
4 M 0-9 (4 boys under 10!)
1 F 0-9 (so he has 5 children under 10, including one girl.)
1820 Aug 7: Census of Wills Twp., Guernsey Co OH, p 180.
HENRY HAGUE 26-44 (Henry b abt 1778 would be 42)
1 F 26-44
1 M 10-15
1 M under 10
4 F under 10 (Names on this census VERY hard to read.)
1830 Jun 1: Census of Richland Twp, Guernsey Co OH, p. 430
Henry Hague 50-60 (Henry b abt 1778 would be 52)
1 F ( census is cut off for 40 +)
1 M 10-15
1 M 5-10
1 F 10-15
1 F 5-10 Looks like about 12 children, IF this is same Henry each census.
1830 Census of Richland Twp p 431 is John Hague b 1775.
1840 Jun 1: Census
HENRY age 62 has disappeared from census. probably died. There is a Henry age 20-30 in Short Creek Twp, Harrison Co. A Francis, Joseph and James also in Short Creek.
It seems very probable that Jehu Hague b 1802 is a son of Henry Hague b abt 1778.
1.) In 1820, Henry Hague age abt 42, lives close to newly md Jehu Hague age 18,
in Wills Twp. That 1820 census lists a James Foreacres, JEHU HAGUE, another James Foreacres, 22 other names and then "HENRY HAGUE.”
2.) In 1830, JEHU is still in Wills Twp. HENRY HAGUE is in Richland Twp, Guernsey Co, with neighbors of George Goodsel, William Larue, Elizabeth Ballard, Samuel Stiers James Foreacres, and William StClair and JESSE HAGUE – who is age 20-30.
3.) In 1840, JEHU HAGUE is of Millwood Twp---but could it be ** Richland Twp with a different name because, there are so many of the same neighbors that were in Richland Twp in 1830. Compare these names to the 1830 above: Samuel Stiers Jr,
Mary Goodsell, William Sinclair, Stephen Ballard, William Larue and George Foreacres. This seems clear indication that the homes of JEHU HAGUE in 1830 and HENRY HAGUE in 1840 were in almost the same place.
JEHU HAGUE was very likely son of HENRY.
Jesse Hague also lives close to Henry Hague in the 1830. Since he is 20-30 in 1830 he too is a likely candidate as a son of Henry Hague
CM’s JOHN HAGUE B 1775 D 1840 1820 Aug 7: Census of Richland Twp, Guernsey, OH. p 172A
This is my JOHN HAGUE b abt 1775. S 12, T 8, R 8.
1830 Jun 1: Census of Richland Twp, Guernsey, OH. p 431
This is my JOHN HAGUE b abt 1775
1840 Jun 1: Census of Seneca Twp, Guernsey, OH. p 423
2 M 60-70 This is my JOHN HAGUE b abt 1775
John-b 1775- Hague's property was NW 1/4 of S 12, T 8, R 8, 159 acres.
That land was named and renamed 4 times:
1820 "Richland Twp, Guernsey Co.," p.172A
1830 "Richland Twp, Guernsey Co., p. 431;
1840 "Seneca Twp, Guernsey Co., p. 423 They did not move.
The above 3 census have "Isaac Mendenhall" and "Law" as neighbors.
1850 "Wright Twp, Guernsey Co," p. 322 (S 12, T 8, R 8)
NOTE! WRIGHT TWP BECAME WAYNE TWP, NOBLE CO, OH in 1851.
1860 "Wayne Twp, Noble Co.," p. 502.
The above township name changes gives credence to statement ** made above about the possibility of 1830 Richland becoming Millwood in the 1840 census.
Needs to be verified further.

1 M 15-20 (I cannot recall the source of this census. It’s not in census indexes I have.)
1 F 15-20
2 F 10-15 (At one time I thought 2 dif census takers duplicated a corner of
territory which overlapped. It is possible. That data needs reviewing. Now where is it?)
Found notes—they say:
THIS WILLS TWP "Hague" IS A REPEAT OF THE RICHLAND TWP "Hague" in the number and ages of children. It appears that JEHU HAGUE lived in a corner of a township and was visited by two census takers in the year 1840. However, I see no similarity to the Hague "neighbors
