1829: Ansina's birth: Probably Sharps Fork, Athens Co., now Morgan Co.
"Sharps Fork is the name of the creek that flowed from Joy to Sharpsburg. It is possible Sharpsburg used to be called Sharps Fork, but I have no proof. The creek is now named Federal Creek." (Jan 1977 note from Wayne & Alison Gilchrist, Sharpsburg, OH 45777. They have the only Gas and Grocery Store at Sharpsburg.)
1846 May 17th Letters to ANSINA SMITH (age 16 almost 17) from her
father, VINCENT & brother SARDINE SMITH. Copy in possession of Carol Minson. Letter from her father is an effort to peruade ANSINA not to marry a MR.FULLER as they felt it was too hasty and such a matter of serious nature as should be carefully considered. The father mentioned he "couldn't afford to do right now what he had done for other 2 sisters." ANSINA'S mother was evidently very sick. However, the reader kind of wondered if they weren't using this to get Ansina back. Evidently there were no other sisters home at the time to take care of the house. The parents lived in Plymouth, Ohio. He evidently sent another letter for her. The letter said "Post Haste" on outside as addressed to MISS ANSINA SMITH. Guyandotte, VA Cabell Co.
