Hogeland to Beall Deed Ex

 

This Indenture made this fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred by and between Cornelius Hogeland of the county of Wood and State of Virginia of the first part and Josiah Beall of the County of Hampshire and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnessed that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid by the aforesaid Josiah Beall the receipt and payment he does hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the aforesaid Josiah Beal his heirs, Executors, Administrators or Assignees by those presents hath granted, bargained and assigned and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant, bargained, sell, assign and confirm unto the aforesaid Josiah Beall his heirs and, assigns all my right, title, interest property claim and demands whatsoever of in and to the following mentioned and bounded piece of land, situate lying and being in the said County of Hampshire, which was granted to the said Cornelius Hogeland by patent bearing date the twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred ninety one, which will now fully appear by having refrences there to Beginning at two white oaks corner to Benj Scritchfield running thence with his line North Seventy three degrees West Eighty poles to some red oaks and white oak bushes on the side of a hill, thence South twenty five degrees West one hundred poles to a drain continued one hundred and thirty poles to another drain continued in all two hundred poles to two pines near near the land of Joseph Tidball, thence South seventy three degrees East Eighty poles to a stake in the line of said Hogeland old track, thence with the line there of North five degrees East two hundred poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres together with all and singular the buildings, improvements and appurtenances whatsoever to the aforesaid piece of land or in any way appertaining to Have and to Hold the aforesaid piece of land hereby granted with the appurtenances with the aforesaid Josiah Beall his heirs and assignes from and against him the said Cornelius Hogeland and his heirs the witness where of the aforesaid Cornelius Hogeland, hath witness to set his hand seal the day and date first above written.

At a Court held for Hampshire County, the 19th day of May 1800

This Indenture of Bargain and sale from Cornelius Hogeland to Josiah Beall was proved by the oath of John Keller one of the witnesses there of and at another Court held for the said County the 15th day of September following the same was further proved by the oaths of Alexander King, and John Mitchell two other witnesses there to and ordered to be Recorded.
