Apostle Charles C. Rich must have left a strong impression on Thomas.  This picture was kept with others important to Thomas.   In the spring of 1864, he joined the Apostle Rich family and moved with them up to Bear Lake Valley where they arrived June 4, 1864, and located in Paris, Idaho.
